(Advanced Vector Extensions 2) is a set of CPU instructions introduced by Intel with its Haswell architecture (2013) and later by AMD with Excavator (2015) and Ryzen (2017) .

: Uncharted 4 was built for the PlayStation 4, which uses a Jaguar CPU that does not support AVX2.

The Intel SDE will intercept AVX2 instructions, translate them into multiple AVX or SSE instructions, and feed them to your CPU. The game will launch.

Scan the game memory for AVX2 opcodes (e.g., VZEROUPPER , VEXTRACTF128 ).

Naughty Dog won't patch it. Your motherboard manufacturer won't add AVX2 via BIOS. So, grab the community DLL, add your antivirus exclusion, and prepare to finally sail away from that island prison on an old, unsupported CPU.

If your hardware is below these specs, the official stance from the developers is that your system does not meet the minimum requirements. However, the community has developed workarounds.
