Performance is surprisingly stable. On an iPad Air or Pro, the battles run smoothly even with hundreds of units clashing. There are occasional dips when smoke effects or explosions pile up, but rarely enough to break immersion. On an iPhone, the experience is predictably more cramped, but still playable if you have steady hands.

However, it’s not perfect. The text can be tiny on phones, requiring zooming to read mission briefings. The biggest casualty is the lack of hotkeys. On PC, you could instantly zoom to a province or queue up units with a keystroke. Here, navigating the management screens involves a lot of tapping and scrolling.
