In Issue 1, Luke Baker, a young soccer player, is caught in a violent gang war in his hometown of Johannesburg. After being rescued by a group of super-powered teenagers, Luke discovers that he too has incredible abilities. The team, led by American expatriate Jim Fury, decides to take Luke under their wing and teach him how to control his powers. As Luke learns to navigate his new abilities, the team faces off against a group of ruthless mercenaries who threaten the city.
