Fear the Walking Dead (FTWD) is a companion series and prequel to The Walking Dead . Spanning seven seasons (and an upcoming eighth), the show charts the transformation of society from the onset of the apocalypse to the complete collapse of civilization. Unlike its parent series, which focuses on survival in a rural Georgian setting, FTWD utilizes urban landscapes (Los Angeles) and later maritime and desert environments to explore the disintegration of the modern family unit.
