The Russian government also took notice of Ren TV's adult content. In 2002, the Russian Ministry of Communications and Mass Media introduced new regulations that restricted the airing of adult content on television. The regulations required channels to blur or censor explicit content, and to restrict airing of such content to late-night hours.
