It gave the detective a faster car from a racing movie and a witty sidekick from a sitcom. When the movie played next, the "bad guy" was so confused by the sudden genre shift that he tripped over a stray plot hole. For the first time in ten years, the detective saved the day and drove off into a sunset rendered in glorious 4K.
