Interestingly, there are rumors that the makers of Tamilyogi were inspired by Tokyo Drift, and it's easy to see why. The film's themes of street racing, drifting, and rebellion are all present in Tamilyogi, albeit with a distinctly Tamil flavor. The film's action sequences, too, owe a nod to Tokyo Drift, with its high-speed car chases and daring stunts.
