Varalaru Mukkiyam follows the life of Arul (fictional character name), a young historian in Chennai who discovers an ancient manuscript linking his family to a forgotten revolution in the 1960s. As he digs deeper, he realizes that powerful forces want this history buried. Parallelly, the film shows a modern-day love story disrupted by caste and political secrets.
