The film is an origin story for the character Snake Eyes, a ninja commando who joins the G.I. Joe team. The movie follows Snake Eyes (Henry Golding) as he seeks to avenge his family's death and becomes a member of the Arashikage ninja clan. Alongside his sensei, Hard Master (Iko Uwais), Snake Eyes must confront his troubled past and learn to trust his new allies.

While Snake Eyes struggles with the concept of honor, the clan is threatened by a terrorist group known as Kenta (Takehiro Hira) and the Baroness (Úrsula Corberó), who are linked to the nefarious organization Cobra.
